Fortunately, most of us enjoy golf and the challenging atmosphere it provides. Our family vacations highlight the year. Whether skiing, rafting, golfing, or spending days at the beach, we thoroughly enjoy our time together. Through elementary and high school, I was educated by very disciplined Dominican nuns and more liberal-thinking Jesuits. Though an interesting contrast, they both helped me develop a strong sense of faith which extends beyond just a religious context. Faith builds confidence and enables me to trust in the capabilities of others. I have been on many great teams and a few bad ones. Great teams derive their strength from collective faith in the ability of each team member. By trusting in each other, each team member can focus on making their best effort. Maximum collective effort produces more wins than losses. I have competed athletically since I joined my first little league team at the age of 8. Since then, I have been drawn to the competitive environment which athletics provides. I am no longer suited to play basketball, football, or run track. So, I now compete on the golf course (handicap: 4). Golf is a humbling and rewarding teacher. The game is quick to point out one’s limitations and how those limitations are addressed. Golf has introduced me to many wonderful people, and more than a few will be lifetime friends. My club affiliations are dominated by golf and are as follows:
